In Tibetan Buddhism, rich in symbols and ritual objects, great importance is attributed to the meaning of the word Dorje, in Tibetan, or Vajra, in Sanskrit: lightning, or diamond, which destroys all types of ignorance, being itself indestructible, principle of spiritual and mental liberation.
