Isis is the Greek name for the Egyptian goddess Ast, which means "throne" in English, and is depicted as a woman with a throne on her head. Isis is first mentioned in writings dating back to 2300 BC, during the Fifth Dynasty of the Old Kingdom of Egypt. She embodies all the attributes of the other Egyptian goddesses.
